I remember when a friend of mine said that there is absolutely nothing wrong with eating pork, as long as you cooked it thoroughly. You don't believe this, do you? I don't mean about the pork, I mean about me having a friend. But I'm telling you, I DO have friends -- true, they might not like me all that much, but they are still my friends.
But on this pork business. Hmmm, do you think that could be correct? That really, there is nothing wrong with eating pork, just so long as we cook it correctly? Then that must mean that what God took exception to, regarding the eating of pork, was that people in Bible times just didn't understand proper cooking techniques. They didn't know the concept of "cooking thoroughly."
Cooking is quite a concept. It involves a thing called fire (whether that is applied via natural gas, or electricity, or even a wood-burning stove, heat is generally involved in cooking).
