REMEMBER the Sabbath of the Lord thy God!
Sabbath Resources
A very good friend of mine, someone I consider to be a very good Christian (someone who lives what he talks, and believes what he lives, and doesn't hesitate to witness about Jesus) recently was required to work on Sunday. My friend, a Baptist, felt very guilty, but he didn't complain or refrain from working. He went in and did his duty. He felt guilty about working on Sunday. I've never heard him call "Sunday" the "Sabbath," but you do see where he's going with it, don't you? That the only reason to feel guilty about working on Sunday is that you somehow find yourself in the deception that Sunday has somehow become "the Sabbath," even if you do call it the "Lord's Day" instead of the Biblical Sabbath.
That's about the saddest thing I've ever heard. That you can get so wrapped up in legalism, that you feel guilty about "sinning," when you haven't sinned in the first place. Of course, if you convince yourself something is sin and go ahead and do it anyway, it kind of proves how deeply you are convicted against that imagined sin.
He felt doubly guilty because when we were working together and our company demanded that we work Saturdays (the Biblical Sabbath), I informed them that I would not do that, but that I would bend over backward to put in my time (and the truth of the matter was that I WANTED overtime to make more money). So I ended up coming in at about 9:00 p.m. on Saturday nights to put in my time, and thankfully, my company was understanding enough not to bash me over the head with a wet noodle. And I know that at the time of my "stand" for God and His Holy Day, my friend thought I was a tad nutty, that I was putting myself under the law, that I was going by the "old covenant," and yadda yadda yadda (with a couple of yackety-yacks thrown in for good measure).
I assured my friend that he needn't feel guilty about working on Sunday, as there are clear examples of the Disciples and Apostles doing that, before and after the Crucifixion, that nobody in the Bible even had an idea of "Sunday holiness," and that there isn't even a hint of an example of God changing His mind. That you can't go and add stuff to a convenant, especially after the blood is shed, and when Jesus died on the cross His Disciples kept the Sabbath, according to the Commandment. Obviously, they were following Jesus' example of keeping the Sabbath (and Jesus even kept the Sabbath in death, resting, and then rising up on the First Day to continue His "work").
Everyone that knows anything admits that it was followers of Jesus, hundreds of years after the ministry of Jesus, that "changed" the Sabbath -- chiefly because of anti-semitism (they did not wish to be associated with "Jews" and thus chose a new holy day, one favored by the pagans, the day of sun worship), even though everybody knows you can't change a covenant after the blood (can you imagine, after paying cash on a new car, to have someone from the dealership show up a year later to swap out your leather upholstery for a tacky red vinyl? you'd tell them no way, I bought and paid for the upholstery that was in there in the first place -- and yet "christians" everyday swear up and down that the followers of Jesus changed the Sabbath, um, you know, because they thought it was a good idea!).
Well, my friend went out and did his own Internet Bible study and came back to me with the "good news" that he hadn't sinned by working on Sunday, as the Sabbath was nailed to the cross! (Whoo-hoo, talk about jumping from the frying pan out into the fire!). Well, there's not too much you can do about those things, as the wealth of Christianity says such things, that God changed His mind, that God's Law has been improved and updated, that God changed His Fourth Commandment, that He wrote with His own finger, and on, and so on, and forth, so forth, and it is really sad, isn't it?
It is scary, but if you do a search on the Internet about "Sunday being the Sabbath," you can find literally HUNDREDS of "studies" by people who fully consider themselves to be "good Christians," and yet they are teaching the commandments of men, doctrines of devils, in the place of Biblical doctrines. And spending just a few minutes in their "studies," you will find them twisting all over the place, quoting Bible verses that go completely against what they are "teaching," and yet they are trying to prove to you, with the Bible, that God changed His mind about the Sabbath, His Own Holy Day, and opted for the pagan sun god's special day.
And you will find, over and over again, a seething anger against God's Holy Day, the very same Fourth Commandment that these false teachers are attempting to disprove, to change. They are attempting to add something NEW to the Bible.
And yet, go to the back of any Bible, the last page of Revelation, and you will find a frightening prophecy about adding to and changing God's Holy Word. You should check it out. It is a grim judgment against those that would "improve" on what God has said in His own Book. I get the idea that the Sabbath Refuters must be a whole lot braver than me, to stand up to God like that, and even spit in His face.
There isn't much of a sense of "Fear of God," have you noticed? A great example of this is "The Rapture," an idea never considered as a "doctrine" until about 100 years ago, and even 50 years ago Baptists would never have smiled at it, let alone Presbyterians, or any other Protestant "church" (and hardly anyone knows the "doctrine" actually began with the Catholic Church -- and today, the best arguments AGAINST the "Secret Rapture" are from the Catholic Church -- have they changed, or are they playing devil's advocate?) (is this an ironic question?) (or just rhetorical?). But today the great pleasure of the churches is making happy new doctrines.
A friend of mine, different than the first cited above, another of what I believe to be a "sincere Christian," laughingly told me that: "We think we are physical beings having a spiritual experience, but the truth is, we are spiritual beings having a physical experience!" I gaped at him. He had no idea he was quoting the Bible, true, but which figure from the Bible?
Quoth the Serpent, thou shalt not surely die!
It is Spiritualism 101, and my friend has no idea what he is saying, whom he is quoting, the person Jesus called "the Father of Lies." God said, disobey Me, and you will die. The serpent said: "Ain't tryin' ta heah dat!" And thousands of years later my friend, a Christian, aligns himself with the serpent. It is also what the New Age Christians are teaching, one of them, a down home boy with a drawl, says: "You already got yerself eternal life, boy howdy, and so does the wicked! You all of you gonna live forever, just is it gonna be with God, or without God?'
Thou shalt not surely die.
John 3:16, the most-often quoted verse in the Bible, has become such a buzzword that people can't even hear what it is saying any longer. That only those who believe in Jesus will have eternal life, while all others perish. A scale with eternal life on one side, and perish (DIE) on the other. But it sure sounds much better, doesn't it? Thou shalt not surely die.
The Christian World turned upside down, the haven for demons and their doctrines. The original Father of Lies is now calling the shots, from inside the Church. Ain't dat sumpin? Can I get a boy howdy?
Nowadays, people feel guilty for working on Sunday (note, they still work on Sunday, but turn to the person next to you and say: "I feel guilty, and ain't dat great?"), people say that we are spirits just having a physical experience, they have become proficient in Spiritualism 101.
People hate the Sabbath, and yet they don't feel guilty about it. People don't know the truth of simple John 3:16, the Gospel in 25 words. They will say you are in a cult if you state the simple truth of life or death. They have bought into the first lie, thou shalt not surely die.
An ironic thing, tying together the two friends, when I was talking to the second aforementioned friend, I kind of referred to the first friend, when my second friend was laughing and stating: "The problem with the Christian world today is that Christians don't read their Bibles!" I agreed with him, and told him about my first friend, how he'd been teaching Sunday School for 5 years, and had never actually read the Bible. And my second friend (the spirit in bodies friend) laughed again and assured me he had read all the way up to almost the end of the Old Testament in the last five years, so no way was he ever gonna be lumped into that never-read-the-Bible crew.
I was shocked. Wow. Talk about irony. Here my second friend was condemning my first friend, and I'd guess that between the two of them they had never read the Bible, not once all the way through.
But how CAN someone not be deceived, when they haven't even read the manual? They're guessing at the Truth, and they're grasping at the fables deceivers have pushed upon them, hoping and believing with their teeth gritted that it is the truth.
The Bible says that God gives these people over to deception, because they have never learned to love the Truth. You have to love the Truth. But before you can love the Truth, you have to learn to love it. You can't "find" God by having a former child sitcom star "prove" to you that you are a sinner, with the Ten Commandments, when the former child sitcom star doesn't even keep the Ten Commandments, never has, never will. And he probably feels guilty for working on Sunday, too.
This is the state of the world today, and worse, the state of Christianity inside the world, a part of the world, of the world, loving the world, grasping its pagan practices and beliefs. And they call it holy. They call it good. They call it "wearing a fireproof suit," and the sad thing is, they don't know what they are talking about -- it is confusion, pure and simple (not that there is anything pure or simple about confusion).
Babylon. Ever hear of it? They kicked Israel's butt and knocked down Solomon's Temple. Kidnapped and enslaved Israel for 70 years.
But there is a new Babylon that doesn't have anything to do with Iran or Iraq, or the Middle East. It is the Babylon of Christianity. Babylon means CONFUSION. And all this stuff about fireproof suits and spirits having a physical experience and feeling guilty for working on Sunday, it is all confusion, and it is all on purpose, all very strategically planned, and all of it very successful in its purpose.
To confuse you. To bamboozle you. To turn you over, flippity-floop, and get you running bass-ackwards, and if there is a cliff nearby, well, that'll work just fine, yes-indeedy-do. Cultivated coo-coo, the old cuckoo clock of Christianity.
But you don't have to be confused. You don't have to be the purposeful fool.
You can get out.
Right now.
If they teach you nonsense. Don't buy it. Don't hug it. Don't say "Praise the Lord!" unless you are running for the door and wide awake and glad to escape.
Don't sit there clapping. Don't turn to the person next to you and say: "I bought that preacher man that $1,000 suit he's wearing!"
If they hate God's law, you don't want them.
They are lying and deceiving.
If they are teaching peace, peace, peace and no peace is coming (hint, a big ole Secret Rapture cuz God ain't gonna wanna subject His itty bitty Christians to no big ole wrath He gonna lay upon the world with a buttah knife!), run from them, these lying prophets, or else you'll suffer their fate with them.
Get out now!
What God has for you is GOOD. The Good News has unlimited riches for you, even if none of those blessings involve a Rolls Royce automobile.
God's Good News is not goofy.
You don't have to be insane to buy into God.
You don't have to be stupid.
Turn to Him today. It's between you and Him. You don't have to send me $5 buckeroos. You don't have to shave your head. You don't have to spend seven years in Tibet. Or watch absurd television programming featuring miracles of talking chickens and $1,000 glow-in-the-dark wigs.
It is between you and God. Turn to Him today, and cry out to Him. Seek Him with your whole heart, with your whole mind, with your whole soul, with your whole spirit, with your whole strength, and He will not be absent from you. He is real and smarter than anyone you know and He is not going to zap 100 points off of your IQ so that you can worship Him.
If anything, He will make you smarter.
Because He will give you peace that is beyond all human understanding.
And that's a good thing.
God is not the author of CONFUSION. Do you believe that? The Bible claims it to be true, but do you believe that it is true?
God demands that you come out of CONFUSION.
Will you?

Isaiah 58:13, look closely, God Himself calls the Sabbath "My Holy Day." The Sabbath is NOT a thing of hatred, but of Love, of DELIGHT! The Sabbath is the way to honor the Lord! The Sabbath is the way to DELIGHT thyself in Yahweh! Doesn't that sound like a very good thing? Don't you WANT that?
The Sabbath is the Day of the Lord, The Lord's Day, God's Delight, and our Delight in God's Day. Delight thyself in the Lord, Delight thyself in Yahweh, and call the Sabbath a DELIGHT! You don't have to go to Tibet to get it, you don't have to visit Rome, you don't have to climb any steps on your knees, God gave this gift to you before sin entered the world, on the Seventh day, the day after creating mankind, God rested, and blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it.
It is already yours, this Delight God has for you, He has already given it to you. Just accept it. Grab it with both hands. Experience God Himself on His Holy Day. Say YES to God, say "I Remember" because You told me to remember, I want what You have to give, Lord God, Heavently Father, Adonai Yahweh El Shaddai!
Work on Sunday and give thanks and praises to God while you work. And rest on God's Holy Day, the Sabbath!

Sabbath Thought #19

____________________________
Don't let anyone trick you out of the gift that God has given to you (don't step into the snare set by Sabbath Refuters, those that hate the Law of God -- don't entertain their "vain thoughts." God says: "Depart from me, ye evildoers." Instead, love His laws, for they are beautiful. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, much fine gold; sweeter also than honey, and the honeycomb. If your favorite "teacher" displays a hatred for God's laws, open your eyes, WAKE UP, and don't go there, don't go and see them, these deceivers who claim to be "Christ," anointed.

The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.
Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair.
They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.
They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them. How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don't let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalms 19:7-14

If ye then,
being evil,
know how
to give
good gifts
unto your
children,
how much
more shall
your Father
which is in
heaven give
good things
to them that
ask him?
Matthew 7:11

God gives us good gifts, He gave us the Sabbath, do you believe Him? Or is the Sabbath a day of dread, instead?
The Sabbath is our gift from God, the first gift in the Garden of Eden!
Do not err,
my beloved
brethren.
Every good
gift and
every
perfect gift
is from above,
and cometh
down from
the Father
of lights, with
whom is no
variableness,
neither shadow
of turning. Of
His own will
begat he us
with the Word
of Truth, that
we should be
a kind of
firstfruits
of His
creatures.
James 1:16-18

Make no mistake about it, God's Sabbath day, a gift to us, is a perfect gift, from the Father of lights, Who does not change, doesn't even hint at turning or changing!
