I’ve had friends say to me, “Well, my sabbath is on this day…” and I frankly see no problem with that. You can have your sabbath anytime you want. You should just not confuse it with God’s Sabbath, and think that you having your own rest, or setting your own holy time, has anything to do with or in any way changes God’s Own Holy Day, the Day He Himself set apart, the Day He told us to “remember.”
The Day of Hope, the Day of Forever.
You should not think to change what God has set in place, what God has blessed, what God has hallowed, what God has sanctified, what God has commanded, what God has demanded, what God has gifted. You might think that you can change God, or become god, but you cannot.
When they tell me that they have their own sabbath, I just generally tell them that I try to keep it as little complicated as possible, that I just keep God’s Sabbath. Making my own day might confuse things. I might start preferring my day to His Day.
One man might esteem this day or that day, and other groups might lift up this day, thinking it good, deep in their hearts, but this does nothing to alter what God esteems, what God has told us so repetitiously that He esteems. Let people do their own practices and generate their own traditions, and let them do it to the glory of God. But don’t think that this in any way changes God or His eternal Word.
The fact is, I cannot make my personal day in any way holy, because it was never made holy for me. People think they can make magical passes with their hands, and speak a few magical words, and Abracadabra, they have blessed something, they have made something holy. Now it is true, they might be setting something apart, keeping it special for their own sake, perhaps they really really really want it to be good good good, but they should not confuse this act, this tradition, with in any way changing what God has said, what God has done. What God has blessed. What God has made holy.
You can have your sabbath, and I have no problem with that. But still, for your own sake, keep God’s Holy Sabbath, His Own Holy Day. It won’t help me in any way, it won’t add anything to my bank account, or even make me walk any faster, make my day any pleasanter; however, it will do so much for YOU, so much for you now, today. The Sabbath, God’s Own Holy Day, is your own gift, something He gave to you and commanded that you keep.
Think about it, all Heaven will celebrate when you return to God, to your first love, and love Him by keeping His commandments. When a sinner turns away from his sins, all Heaven celebrates, for God again has accomplished the impossible. To God, nothing is impossible. To God, all things are possible, even sinners turning from their own man-made traditions of changing God’s times and laws.
Why throw out His gift to you? Why not unwrap it and see if you like it. I can guarantee you, you will love it. The Sabbath, God’s Sabbath, the Biblical Sabbath, will make you happy. You think I’m wrong, but happiness will come flooding into your life, happiness in the form of Hope. You will hope for perhaps the first time.
It is a day of Hope. Hope is important. And God has actually given you very real Hope in the Sabbath day, His Own Holy Day. The Biblical Sabbath is an actual foretaste of what Heaven will be like. Think about that, the Sabbath is connected to Heaven, the Sabbath in the Bible is associated with Heaven, and we know, from reading the Bible, that the Sabbath actually comes from Heaven!
It is true, God tells us He gave us His Own Holy Day. He did not invent something new at the Creation of the world. He took His normal practice, His Heavenly habit, and applied it to this place, Earth, and to us. He hallowed the day. He set it apart. It is a day different from the other days.
Think about it. The first six days of the week were new, never experienced before. Most people almost always refer to it as the “Six Days of Creation,” forgetting about the Holy Seventh Day. But perhaps in some long-rooted memory, these people know that the Seventh Day was not new, it had not seen its first light here on Earth. Because the Seventh day was God’s practice in Heaven. We are promised that we will gather before God on the Seventh day of the week, in Heaven, of all places. And we are told that God does not change, that He is the same yesterday, today, and the same tomorrow. It is the same at the end of time as it was in the beginning, the very beginning.
God took something Heavenly, a day of Hope, and gave it to us. Later, He actually commanded us to accept this free gift, and remember it, and cherish it, and even take great delight in God on His Own Holy Day, the Sabbath of God, the Biblical Sabbath, the very Seventh day of the week that God rested on way back at our beginning on this globe.
Heaven on Earth. It is already here. It is inside of you. It is a very part of you, even if you hate it, or don’t know it, or have never heard of it. The Sabbath is inside of you, your heritage. You inherited the Sabbath, God’s Sabbath, the Biblical Sabbath, from God Himself, not from man, not from your parents, not from your distant relative, not from Moses, not even from Adam and Eve, at the beginning, but from God.
Yahweh, Adonai Yahweh El Shaddai, He was there at the beginning. And He set a day apart, choosing His Own Royal Holy Day, the Sabbath of Heaven, which He enacted here on Earth, the same as in Heaven. God rested. Do you think He was exhausted after creating our little Earth, instituting life here? After eons of creating throughout the universe, after creating universe after universe, God came here to this void planet, and He created life here. And He rested here.
Think about that. God rested here. He didn’t have to stay. He could have moved on to other worlds, other universes, other projects of Creation.
But we are told in His Word that God rested, here. He kicked back and smiled, He saw that it all was good, He saw that people were good, He saw that this self-perpetuation ecosphere was good, He saw that life was good. God smiled. I believe He laughed, and His laugh echoed throughout the Sabbath, throughout eternity on the Sabbath. I believe that all life, all angels, all created beings, came forward and knelt before the King on His Own Holy Day, that there was some interdimensional party, all around the Earth, all around the universe, a great day of celebration on God’s Sabbath.
A day of Delight! A day of Delight, indeed.
And now, all these years later, people actually snort at God’s Delightful Memorial, His Own Holy Day! Think about it. People today, the people who should know Him best, laugh at God’s Sabbath. They chuckle derisively. They mock His day. They claim to have changed His day. They claim to have IMPROVED His Day, made something better than what God tells us has existed throughout eternity.
The eternal Sabbath of Yahweh, the eternal Sabbath of Yahshua. People have improved it. Can you believe that they can believe such a thing? That they can go on television and radio and proclaim that they have made a day better than what God created, than what God has always kept, than what will exist forever, that will exist in Heaven itself when all time has ended?
Think about it. Someday, and probably soon, God will set up Heaven here, on earth, for this earth will be gone, baptized in fire, melted, and a New Earth will stand in its place, one that does not need a sun to shine upon it for life. A New Earth where God Himself shall reside, where every Sabbath all Creation shall come before Him, and kneel, bow low.
That will be the Sabbath. And all the scorners, haters, mockers, where will they be? Will they be present, sorry for their lies and deceptions, their traditions of men and their finer traditions of the elders, will they be there, bowing low, sorry for their sins, sorry for their blatant, rampant iniquity?
Or will they be somewhere else, forgotten, ashes blown by eternity into the void? Will anyone remember their haughty words? Will anyone recall their spiteful websites that spit on God as they spit on His Own Holy Day? Will anyone remember?
All will remember what God Himself said to remember. All will remember the Sabbath. Because it was a day of Delight, it is a Day of Delight, it will always BE A DAY OF DELIGHT, for forever, and ever, and throughout eternity. God does not change, God does not lie, God does not change His mind.
God Is, and Was, and Will Be.
He is Yahweh. Yahshua is Yahweh is Salvation.
God said remember. That echo yet reverberates to this day. It echoes like a bell of freedom, a great bell of delight, echoing, reverberating, peals of purity, hallowed amplification of delightful sound, shaking sound, shaking the very air before you, you can feel the trembling Earth beneath your feet, and you feel Eternity drawing nigh, you feel Him even at the door, so close, just around the corner, and the Hope builds in your breast, or the terror mounts, one or the other.
You might scoff. You might sneer. You might spit.
But you cannot change the Truth. The Truth is the Truth and it will always be the Truth, now and forevermore.
The haters? Deceivers? Liars? Evil doers?
Quoth the raven, “Nevermore.”
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
Romans 14:5-8
Be persuaded in your own mind. Some people will tell you that this day is special, this day is more important than the others, but God Himself has told us, repeatedly, clearly, conclusively, which day is set apart unto Him. God's own Holy Day, we don't need to be persuaded about. But the other days, the special days such as Halloween and Christmas and Sunday and Lent and Bob Squarepants Day, and all the rest, think it through, study it, pray about it, and be fully persuaded. Sure, keep your own holy day, one that you have chosen and made, and keep it unto God Himself, but don't confuse that day with the Day He set apart.
Six days shall work be done, but on the Seventh Day there shall be to you an Holy Day, a Sabbath of rest to the Lord: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
Exodus 35:2
A Sabbath of rest to the Lord. A Sabbath of rest to Yahweh. There is life to those who obey Him and death to those who rebel against Him for their own traditions and their own truths and their own lies and deceits.
If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My Holy Day; and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour Him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
Isaiah 58:13-14
Honor God on His Own Holy Day. Make the Sabbath a delight, and pursue Him, honor Him, delight in Him, and you will delight yourself in the Lord. God makes some great promises to those under the New Covenant, the very House of Israel, He promises that those who keep His Own Holy Day will ride upon the high places of the Earth. The MOuth of Yahweh has spoken it. Do you believe Him?
Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: but the Seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the Seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Exodus 20:8-11
God rested on the Seventh day and blessed it, He blessed the Sabbath day. And we are to do all our work in six days, but rest on the Sabbath day, the Seventh day, the day that God Himself set apart.
Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a Sign between Me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you. Ye shall keep the Sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Exodus 31:13-14
The Sabbath is serious. God takes it seriously, so serious that He issues a clear-cut warning to the New Covenant believer, those that accept Jesus Christ, Yahshua Moshiach, as Savior. The Sabbath is a SIGN between Yahweh and the individual, so that they know Who it is that blesses them, Who it is that sanctifies them. Do not defile the Sabbath by claiming another day or another time is "sabbath," but keep God's eternal Original, the Sabbath of God, the Sabbath of the Bible, the Sabbath of Yahweh, the Sabbath of Eternity. Keep the Sabbath so that you may know that Yahweh is Adonai, and that He separates you, sets you apart. The Sabbath is a sign.
Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a Perpetual Covenant. It is a Sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
Exodus 31:16-18
The Sabbath is a SIGN, forever. And if you are a New Covenant Believer, then the Sabbath is for you. God was refreshed on the Seventh day, on the Sabbath. The New Covenant is made with the House of Israel, and no other. If you have accepted the True Messiah, then you are a part of Israel, and the Sabbath is a Perpetual Covenant, it is forever, even into the New Earth.
Thus saith the Lord, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the Lord, speak, saying, The Lord hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. For thus saith the Lord unto the eunuchs that keep My Sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the Sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. The Lord God which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.
All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest. His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
Isaiah 56
Those who should know best, they are purposefully stupid. They intentionally close their eyes and ears and issue lies and deceits from their blowholes. The dumb dogs, the false shephers, the ignorant ones that try to teach the Word of God, they lie down and sleep, these greedy dogs which cannot understand. God says "Keep the Sabbath" and they scoff and say we have a better day. God says "Remember the Sabbath" and they sneer and say that's for the Jews, we have a better day. God draws the people into two camps, those that Love Him, and Keep His Commandments, and those who do not love Him, and do not keep His Commandments.
Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord God; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:
That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord God.
Ezekiel 11:17-21

Don't let anyone trick you out of the gift that God has given to you (don't step into the snare set by Sabbath Refuters, those that hate the Law of God -- don't entertain their "vain thoughts." God says: "Depart from me, ye evildoers." Instead, love His laws, for they are beautiful. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, much fine gold; sweeter also than honey, and the honeycomb. If your favorite "teacher" displays a hatred for God's laws, open your eyes, WAKE UP, and don't go there, don't go and see them, these deceivers who claim to be "Christ," anointed. Know God, and allow Him to know you. You never want to hear the Words: "Depart from me, you lawbreaker, I never knew you." Throw your arms around the knees of the Savior and cry: "Save me! I'm Yours!"
The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.
Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair.
They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.
They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them. How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don't let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalms 19:7-14
