We are told to take the Name of God seriously, and treat His Name with respect. We are told to speak His Name with reverance, and we are absolutely NEVER told to refrain from speaking His Name, we are never told that His Name is too holy to speak. We are told that He gave us His Name
The Tetragrammaton "YHWH" in Hebrew is comprised of the letters:
Yud-Hey-Vav-Hey
YHWH is pronounced "Yahweh." "Jehovah" is not God's Name, nor was it ever His Name, but a means of hiding His Name, so that we would not pronounce it, as the translators felt, based on tradition alone, that His Name is far too holy to pronounce.
God also said to Moses, "Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors--the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob--has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations. Exodus 3:15
As with the Fourth Commandment to REMEMBER God's Holy day, we are told that the the Third Commandment also, to respect God's Name, but also to REMEMBER it. The Bible does not say that the Name of Yahweh was ever lost, and He HImself says: "This is My eternal Name, My Name to REMEMBER for all generations." This includes our generation, today, we are to remember His HOLY Name, Yahweh.
I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as El-Shaddai--'God Almighty'--but I did not reveal my name, Yahweh, to them. Exodus 6:3
There should be no controversy, as Yahweh is His Name. We should not use or speak false names of tradition that were created to hide God's Holy Name, but instead speak the Name that He gave us, God Himself gave to us, for all generations. We should speak and pray the Name "Yahweh."
Now therefore, what do I here, saith the LORD, seeing that My people is taken away for nought? They that rule over them do howl, saith the LORD, and My name continually all the day is blasphemed. Therefore My people shall know My name; therefore they shall know in that day that I, even He that spoke, behold, here I am.
