A man can tell himself and other people that he is a Christian. And he can actually come to believe it. The others, too, might believe him. He might "get it in his spirit" that Harry Potter is evil and needs to be stopped, and so he tells a Gospel of Anti-Potter and others believe him, and passionately. There is a danger, they will preach, that your children will adore Harry Potter, and that they will want to grow up and becomes witches and wizards, and that they very well might, one dark and stormy night, sneak out and run away and actually join Hogwartz, and begin to receive training in witchcraft. Soon the children will be flying about on brooms, eating jelly beans that can either taste like barf or avocado, and of course, worshipping Satan.
What this whole scenario is called is a "red herring," or a "snipe hunt," or a "wild goose chase," because the man is not a Christian and neither are the people that he convinced of the very real dangers of Harry Potter, and Harry Potter is a fictional character in a series of books that does not represent real witchcraft at all, and there is no Hogwartz where children can learn to fly brooms, and people cannot really fly on brooms notwithstanding, but what has happened is that a whole lot of people have joined together into a community and focused all their attention AWAY from what really matters, AWAY from the Truth, AWAY from real Christianity and really, truly serving God.

Whether a child watching a puppet show, or a man deluding himself into believing something that is just not real, it is all about deception. Deception is alive and very well, and prospering (you might say that Deception has its very own Prosperity Gospel going on, and it is doing very well, thank you very much), even if that means that people are choosing, of their own free will, to deceive themselves, or to allow others to deceive them.
If you wake in the middle of the night and hear someone moving about downstairs, and you go down to investigate, and discover a fat man in a red suit holding packages, I do not think that too many people would jump to the conclusion that they had just interrupted Santa Claus, and more than likely they would be very wise indeed not to make that particular leap of faith. Just because someone is fat and wearing red furry clothes doesn't make him full of good will toward men and aiming at peace on Earth. More than likely he'll whip out a gun and shoot you before continuing to rob you of everything of value.
Suppose you learned that someone intended to poison you and then you found two bottles sitting upon your kitchen table. The first bottle is opaque and black and an embossed skull and bones figures across its surface, while the second bottle is clear crystal with a bright pink label reading: "Wondrous Health!" What would you surmise in your massive expanse of logic and reason?
Sadly, most people would throw out the black bottle, judging it evil, and promptly uncork the crystal bottle and guzzle down its refreshing contents. But would a wiser judge throw out both bottles and consider all was safe?
More than likely both bottles were simple ruse, plain water, and the real poison is somewhere hidden inside the comfortable and familiar confines of the family refrigerator.
Chasing the shadow of Harry Potter is like a holy man throwing out the black bottle while extolling the virtues of the crystal bottle, having absolutely no hint of a clue as to what either bottle contains.
Nothing is as it seems.
The puppet master pulls several strings and the warning goes out: "Watch out for Satanism! It is scary, their churches have upside-down crosses, their people have painted white skin and dye their hair black! They read Harry Potter books, and love, absolutely adore Halloween, when they sacrifice black cats. These followers of Satan say that good is bad and that bad is good, they say it is bad to be good and good to be bad, they hug each other and say I hate you all the while meaning I love you!"
The puppets faint in terror. We must stomp out Satanism, the puppets chant, and they march out as to war, onward, onward, we shall defeat the foe!
And the puppet master smiles, because he has sent them off again on another wild goose chase, all the while pulling their strings.

George Washington was a Presbyterian and the first president of this country, and we need to return to those good old days when witches were burnt and homosexuals right next to them!
