Contemporary Parables that make Sense.
There is a reason they call it "common sense." It is because it is common to all of us. Thinking. What a novel concept. To actually use the brain you were born with. When they were passing out brains, you thought they said pains and you hastily answered that you didn't want none of that. But it is not too late (for the brains, and sadly, yes, using your brain can prove painful, but in the end it is worth it). You still have a brain, if you can make sense of these words on this page. There is still hope. Hey, give thinking a try. What have you got to lose, in this crazy, crazy world?
What's this world coming to, anyway...
...is what I'd like to know.
Faith, it is a good thing, right? So why would some liberal organization such as Greenpeace ask you oh so very politely not to do such a thing, share it, you know, faith? They . . . evil or something, this association of big old world huggers?
They ripped prayer right out of the Public School system, and Benjamin Franklin is probably turning over in his grave. But certain groups have a plan, to take this nation back for God. The very near future, or the Twilight Zone?
Poor Jed, forced to confront one of the sins that God calls an abomination (God actually promises to come back to destroy these filthy carnal men). But Jed has heard all the sermons, about how God changes His mind.
Imagine getting, as a free gift, one of the highest-tech sports cars ever, ever imagined? A super automobile worth millions of dollars, and it is all a gift, from a strange Prince from a faraway land. Big deal? Or are you entitled? (a little bit of "thinking" on the parable)
The King presented his gift, a beautiful Golden Crown to all his subjects. But the King's former friend, a great wizard, challenged the King, and bamboozled the peons with great magic, offering something better than a Golden Crown.
A message in a bottle, buried for more than 100 years. A message from another world? A world outside of time, outside the very bubble of time that God created? Is there still time, or is everything prearranged in a puppetshow where we have absolutely no choice?
Watchmen on the walls? Why in the world do we need them? Afterall, what's coming next is invisible, right? Why in the world do we need to WATCH for anything, especially when we can't see it? Just speak positively, and keep your eyes clenched shut, that's the way.
Just give Thinking a chance.
THINK. Think your own thoughts.
Use the MIND that God Himself gave you, the thing that makes you unique, the thing that encompasses YOU, your mind, your noodle, your "heart" as the Bible calls it. Think with it, it's what God wants you to do. If you only think the thoughts of other people, you are not doing what you were designed to do. THINK. Or at least think about thinking, that would be a good start.
Sense is not evil. Common sense is a good thing. You think you can't figure it out, but that is because you haven't ever tried.
